Park Cottage, Wiltshire, England 

A replacement family dwelling in a rural location for a private client. I detailed and annotated the scheme for building code application with masonry construction details. I also managed the engineer’s contribution and liased with the Building Code consultant. I developed my client relationship though responding to their queries and carrying out site visits to check on progress and report back to the rest of the design team.

Anusaran School and Women’s Refuge, Delhi, India 

In Summer 2010 a group of 5 fellow architecture classmates and I went to Dwarka, Delhi to work with the charity, Anusaran. After 3 weeks of discussions with the charity, focus groups with the women and children who benefit from the charity, and meetings with local contractors we had developed a brief and designed a rough scheme with a programme of community space, classrooms and emergency women’s refuge accomodation.

Anusaran School and Women’s Refuge, Delhi, India 

On our return to the UK we developed the design and began fundraising. Events included exhibitions featuring the Anusaran project, local artists and other humanitarian themed work, social dances and partys, and international humanitarian architecture competitions. The project is currently in phase 3 of construction with the 1st floor community space and 2nd level classrooms completed. More at: www.tesseact.org.uk

Sheltered Housing, Aberdeen, Scotland 

Second semester design studio project. This project was for housing suitable for the elderly in a development which included some mixed use uses that would benifit the wider community. Following on from various investigations into the site and its context, a brief for 20 units along with a community dance centre was set. Accessability, comfort and private/public boundaries were all major indicators for the final solution.

Public Library, St Andrews, Scotland 

First semester design studio project. The brief called for the renovation of the existing. Grade II historical library building as well as the addition of additional accomodation on an adjacent site. As a public building, much investigation went into the urban context of the site and how the library’s design would relate to this.
