Include coupling Include coupling Include coupling
NOTE THAT IF YOU CANNOT IGNORE COUPLING, THERE IS NO GUIDANCE ABOUT WHAT TO DO
probably you should use the coupled frequencies to calculate the various ampitudes.
but are these amplitudes half amplitudes or full amplitutdes?
but should I make the same aditions of rocking components to figure the total amplitudes of vibration?
I guess you should use the modified coupled frequencies in the four modes to figure all the magnification factors and other dynamic properties

Include coupling Include coupling
NOTE THAT IF YOU CANNOT IGNORE COUPLING, THERE IS NO GUIDANCE ABOUT WHAT TO DO
probably you should use the coupled frequencies to calculate the various ampitudes.
but should I make the same aditions of rocking components to figure the total amplitudes of vibration?
I guess you should use the modified coupled frequencies in the four modes to figure all the magnification factors and other dynamic properties
Units English E
The harmonic loads may be in phase or out of phase- how do I handle the phase difference
there really is a horizontal load + a vertical load that is 90 degrees out of phase with the horizontal load
I could make a graph of the dynamic force vs frequency for both turbine and generator, but I don't need it for calculation
What to do if you don't get a critical frequency for the rotor from the vendor?

for vert & hor forces assume they are in phase
The harmonic loads may be in phase or out of phase- how do I handle the phase difference for moments, assume that they are out of phase so oments are max
there really is a horizontal load + a vertical load that is 90 degrees out of phase with the horizontal load
I could make a graph of the dynamic force vs frequency for both turbine and generator, but I don't need it for calculation
What to do if you don't get a critical frequency for the rotor from the vendor?

How do I handle the different input formate and different input values?
For motors, and some other equipment, I don't think you will get critical speeds and a static eccentricity
I have the several different input schemes shown at left, but how do I get the spreadsheet to
choose the correct one for callculating

For this sheet, I want to add a third set of inputs for a gearbox
I want to reduce the numbe rof blocks input, 15 is too many, I think no more than 10 is enough
I also want to figure out the best way to add up all three inputs:
q
max
< one-half of q
all
, so mat size is okay.
q
max
> one-half of q
all
, try a larger mat size.

Rigid rotors don't have the peaks from resonance that you have with non-rigid rotorsl
This value is tied directly to an operating frequency
If you put a very low frequency into this equation, the eccen value blows up.
I don't know what happens if operating W is close to critical speed. I think that doesn't happen because if it did, they would be giving us a rotor that resonates.
I do know that fcrit1 = 0.4 * W oper and fcrit2 = 1.3 * W oper, so in this case that doesn't happen.
100000
This applies to rigid rotors only
Note that at the two critical frequencies, there is no spike in the eccentricity.
Why does this happen?
This is an ALLOWABLE eccentricity
What is the limit on static balance eccentricity for a rotor meeting this standard?

Rigid rotors don't have the peaks from resonance that you have with non-rigid rotorsl
If you put a very low frequency into this equation, the eccen value blows up. W = 20 rpm
eccen = 0.04699 in this might be equivalent to static balancing, but I think it is a rather large value.
I don't know what happens if operating W is close to critical speed. I think that doesn't happen because if it did, they would be giving us a rotor that resonates.
I do know that fcrit1 = 0.4 * W oper and fcrit2 = 1.3 * W oper, so in this case that doesn't happen.

Residual specific unbalance
vs Operating frequency
This applies to rigid rotors only
Note that at the two critical frequencies, there is no spike in the eccentricity.
Why does this happen? for a rigid rotor, that spike does not happen
This is an ALLOWABLE eccentricity
What is the limit on static balance eccentricity for a rotor meeting this standard?

This value may have all the effects of any and all critical frequencies, so it does not have to be amplified
