 It declines some traditional journalistic control and gives citizens some space to have a voice. Difference between Civic Journalism and Conventional Journalism: Some of the differences of conventional and civic journalism:  It builds some interactivity for readers. It gives citizens some entry points to take various actions. people are more interested and may elect to take some action. They can express their views on television either by taking part in talk shows or different polls that now take place on television shows. news and events used to be broadcasted and printed. Civic journalists take their readers. deliberate. In civic journalism people do not just read or listen to news. Civic journalism provides forum for these discussions whereas traditional journalism does not. In civic journalism. invites celebrities.Civic Journalism versus Conventional Journalism Civic journalism has started playing a very important role in the society. They question facts and figures and demand explanations or solutions. their views. citizens are no longer spectators but active participants. viewers and listeners. In conventional journalism everything was controlled. It involved no interaction of the people. the whole scenario has changed in the mass media. Nowadays. In traditional journalism. especially if the civic journalist has given them a clue or suggestion that they could follow. according to the whims of the politicians or high stakeholders. The talk shows that are nowadays very popular.  It positions citizens as stakeholders. Controversial views and opinions used to be edited. They become active participants. whereas in civic journalism everything is less controlled.  It advances a discussion of useful ideas or solutions to address a problem. Sending ‘sms’ to these programs. But now that civic journalism has evolved. politicians. . meet and question. People can say openly whatever is in their minds. They can talk. Live talk shows are a perfect example of the change that civic journalism has brought. capable of doing something about an issue. expressing opinions is also a popular way. experts and analysts to sit together and discuss different issues and problems that occur every day. their ideas or opinions. viewers and listeners not as inactive participants of facts and figures but as active civic assets who are capable of doing more than just reading.

Questions such as when. where why and how are discussed and answers are searched. The morals.  It holds citizens-not just the public officials –accountable for civic life. Topics such as corruptions and bribery are not just discussed on the surface level but talk shows are held to reach the root of the matter. These issues include honesty.  It looks for the internal. Civic journalism holds every member of society accountable for all the deeds as well as the misdeeds. It frames issues in terms of people’s values and the choices around those values. Civic journalism however addresses these problems bravely and gives air to these problems.  It braves those issues that make your community squirm. Civic journalism presents problems in such a way that any social issue becomes the issue of all community.not just the external tensions around tough topics. Each and every person is a vital part of society. their victims as well as the criminals. . fraud or sewerage problems at a basic level. ethics and principles of all the society is questioned and appeased. Social issues like child abuse and child molestation were not openly discussed in traditional journalism.
