Tel & Fx: (718) 426-3959 ss! Declaration We, the Executive Committee members of the International Burmese Monks Organization in New York passed the following resolution. 1. We strongly object to the forthcoming trial of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the winner of the 1990 election by a landslide margin. She is to be tried on a trumped up charge of breaking the rules of her detention, 2. On careful study of the case, we have high suspicion that this foreign agent have been set up by the authorities to enable them to prolong her detention. We firmly believe that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her two aides were innocent victims of a plot by the authorities. 3. Instead of taking action against the organizers and culprits of the infamous Depeyin massacre, the victim of that attempted assassination, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been imprisoned for the ast 19 years. Once again, the Military Junta is behaving in the manner that all the Democratic governments strongly object. 4. Once again, we the executive committee of IBMO, condemn the SPDC government for this shameful behavior and withdraw all charges against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, her aides Daw Khin Win and her daughter Ma Win Pa Pa. 5. We implore all the Nations who support the Democratic Principles and Rule of Law to prevent further injustice against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. ‘The International Burmese Monks Organization New York, USA May 15, 2009
