I have always been a motorsport enthusiast and love to drive as fast as possible yet still make it around the

next corner safely. Playing on go carts as often as I could I learnt the basics of how to drive and then through track days with courses I slowly started to learn the finer points and started to master the art of driving a race car extremely quickly in all sorts of tack conditions. I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with some V8 Supercar drivers in the top series to gain some personal coaching and share a car with a few of them in some lower level events. It’s amazing how much you can learn from these experiences and to see the difference between a mediocre driver and a true professional driver. I have to say that there is nothing scarier to me than hitting an oil slick on a racetrack at high speed with slicks (tyres) on and having the car go into a spin, leaving the track at a rapid rate. You simply bury your feet into the brake pedal and hang on as tight as you can hoping that you don’t meet personally with the concrete wall or even worse, miss the wall to go off an embankment, collide with other cars or roll. When this happens you truly are a passenger and you simply need to hang on. After meeting Brett Holdsworth in early 2006 at a track day at the Winton Raceway in northern Victoria, on a John Bowe Motorsport day, we talked about a sponsorship deal to help Brett get through the ranks up to the top series being V8 Supercars Australia Main Series. Brett has seen and tasted this level of motorsport with his brother Lee Holdsworth being in the main game since 2004 with Gary Rogers Motorsport GRM #33. After numerous discussions we decided to clean up and enhance the Commodore Cup Car “number 3” and brand it as the Insight Racing Car for the Shannon’s National Commodore Cup Series. Brett competed extremely hard in the 2007 year with many setbacks along the way but managed to hold his #3 place in the championship. It was only the following season back in the commodore cup series after a development series in between that Brett took out the Shannon’s National Commodore Cup series. Insight Racing also sponsored the Simons Plains (Tasmania) and Sandown (Melbourne) events of the series in the year of 2007.
