May 12, 2009 Dear __________: I am happy that you will be joining the Masters of Science Program in Digital Media beginning in Fall Semester 2009. The attached handout offers practical information to help you prepare for your graduate career. Georgia Tech Graduate Orientation will take place on Tuesday, August 11 at 9:00 AM in the Coliseum. In addition, we will hold a special orientation meeting on Wednesday, August 12 at 3:00 PM for Digital Media and HCI/LCC students in Skiles 002, followed by a pizza reception at 5:00 PM in the Wesley New Media Center. We also anticipate offering a software boot camp on Adobe applications Flex, Flash, and Air during the week of August 10-14; we will send more details as soon as they are available. Registration will run from August 12–21. Classes begin on Monday, August 17. The attached Information Sheet addresses many of the questions we know you have, including: • Orientation • Registration • International Students • Books Worth Reading • Software Worth Learning Please keep track of this information and bring it with you when you come to Georgia Tech.
