I am always amazed at the comments people make about me regarding Susan Atkins. Her friends write me to decry my attacks on Susan. They tell me my web site is vindictive towards Tex and Susan. Since they choose to maintain these erroneous ideas based in self deception, I want to address some things about Susan. I was allowed to meet personally with Susan Atkins as a result of an appearance on the Maury Povich Show in 1991. I stated that the person who married Susan Atkins was not an "ordained" minister given the right to marry people in the church. How did I know that? I was a Church of the Nazarene minister and I knew from personal experience that a licensed minister had no authority to marry. Period. Thus, I called the CDC to ask about that marriage and was informed that any person can perform a wedding ceremony within the prison system in California. I was stunned to see that the inmates are not required to follow the same laws the rest of us are under in a free society. The attorney for Susan Atkins took me to CIW where Susan has been housed following her conviction. Our meeting was cordial, pleasant, timely, informative, relaxed, yet in some ways it was confrontational because I asked hard questions. Susan Atkins does not like hard questions. She does not like to have to tell the truth. Susan likes to change her stories and she does so quite often. My first visit with her was just over five hours. We parted friends, she hugged me, and she stood at the fence waiving as I walked away and into freedom. My second visit was more intense. I showed up with a lot of photographs for Susan to consider. I had them arranged in order of the things she would have seen at the Tate house. Her recall in some areas astounded me. Her deception in other areas closer to the actual crime scenes disappointed me. It is a matter of record that Susan Atkins is untruthful regarding the actual stabbing of Sharon Tate. We were allowed the use of an attorney room that was rather confining and cold. We sat so close to one another that our knees touched. Susan smiled and told me that "This is the exact room I sat in with those two attorneys who came to see me" as she spoke about Melvin Belli and famed defense attorney F. Lee Bailey. At the end of the nearly five hours session her husband came into the visiting room, Susan jumped up, ran over to him, climbed up on him and gave a sensually intimate hug to James. James saw me, was angered, and walked over to the other side of the visiting room. When Susan returned to say farewell to her attorney Deborah and me she said softly, "I really wish I could give you a hug good bye but James is not happy about you being here. We will have to pray that God brings him around so he will trust you" were her last words to me. Her eyes were intense. As we continued to write one another over the next several months our relationship blossomed. Susan believed I could help her win parole. I pointed out some observations about her parole hearings that I thought she should address. I enjoyed my friendship with her. Her attorney would ask me often about her husband. "What is his trip" said Deborah, as she tried to understand the attraction to a lifer inmate by a man fifteen years younger than Susan. Susan told me that she and James never discussed the crimes. "He has never asked me anything about it" said Susan. I find that strange and difficult to believe because James is now her attorney of record. It is a contradiction. I find Susan Atkins, as I wrote in my book Manson Behind The Scenes, very attractive, articulate, warm, friendly, cunning, manipulating and mysterious. I like Susan Atkins. I believe she is a Christian and I have never doubted her conversion experience as her followers seem to believe. I have not even said Tex is not a Christian! Susan Atkins has lied several times SINCE her conversion. Some of those lies will be addressed by Desert Speaks in the next few months. Now, does that mean Susan is not Born Again? God forbid. It means she is not very mature as a Christian and it means she still suffers from personality disorders which allowed her to choose the wrong path many years ago that resulted in her present criminal incarceration. Susan Atkins has an anti-social personality and that fact does not change just because a person accepted Jesus Christ into her life. Susan Atkins is a murderer many times over and she will be one regardless of her redemptive regeneration by Jesus Christ. Some lies: Susan has lied about her father and it all came out in those Manson C-File papers that I returned to the CDC. Susan claims she never stabbed Voytek. Susan claims, now, that she never stabbed Sharon Tate. Susan never admitted that she and Gypsy went swimming at the Tate house pool prior to the murders. She always allowed us to believe she was there only one time, late at night during the murders. Susan claims to have run out of Barker Ranch, hitched a ride to Venice, CA where she got three bikers and went all the way back to Barker Ranch to get her son back. (1993 parole hearing) There is not one Manson family member who can document that ever happened. There are only four people who actually walked out of Barker Ranch away from Manson and lived to tell about it. They were all female. Susan was not one of them. Susan told Australia 60 Minutes that..."I lied to the grand jury" during her interview. Susan told me..."I told the truth to the grand jury" during our meetings. Susan told one story at the trial about the killing of Sharon Tate. Susan told another story to the parole hearing panel. Susan told me yet another rendition during our first meeting. Susan took the DA to the wrong location to look for the body of Shorty Shea. She later wrote me and told me that Charlie told her, Bruce Davis, Gypsy, and Clem to go to where Shorty was murdered and make sure there was no evidence. Susan knew Shorty had been moved. Susan never gave up the location of the buried body of Shorty Shea. Neither did Born Again Tex Watson or Bruce Davis. Who gave up that body? Clem, the insane one who was

angered because the parole board believed he had cut off the head of Shorty. And, it was none other than unrepentant Bobby who suggested to Clem that he prove Shorty was not decapitated. Those two people are not Christians! Susan told me she reneged on her agreement for immunity because she was "forced" to see Charlie in the courtroom. That was a lie. Desert Speaks has told me that Susan Atkins demanded to see Manson and she refused to leave until she indeed saw him. Susan got her way. Susan said she bragged to Ronnie Howard and Virginia in lock up to enhance her protection from attack. Susan has said that she lied when talking to both of them. But, Desert Speaks has proof that Susan told both of those inmates the truth. How do I know? Desert Speaks heard Susan boasting of her stabbing Sharon Tate out in the desert. It was in a private conversation. Susan was not afraid of Manson then. The conversation between Susan Atkins and another female was not suppose to be heard by another human. But it was! Since when does telling the truth justify attacks from supposed supporters of a serial killer such as Susan Atkins? I am convinced that her supporters believe I am this really bad guy who has a web site for no other purpose than to get revenge on the poor mistreated inmates. But their belief does not make it true. The former KKK member sent me a long diatribe this morning about my web site and attacked all over again. He claims to have received 11,000 hits a month to his site. That is not surprising to me at all. Do you want to know what the most often used name/link regarding the Manson case is? Susan Atkins. Just launch a site, use her name, and you will get a lot of hits. Susan Atkins faces a parole panel next year. She will have the most difficult time ever due to some activity with this web site. Susan will be confronted by her lies and asked to explain her answers to the board. She will be defended by her husband -- who has never discussed the murders with her -- that is if you choose to believe her. Susan was sentenced to death. She got a reprieve and she is eligible for a release date. Her problem is that she just simply has too many counts against her to ever be released. She is not Leslie. Susan deserves to be treated in a humane manner as an inmate. She gets dental, medical, meals, warmth, marriage, and a bed with blankets. Her murdered victims get none of those things and neither do their families. The victim's families pay for the education of the children and grandchildren. Susan gets it all for free. Susan gets to go before a panel of professional people to beg for freedom. They listen. They evaluate. That is more than Susan gave Sharon Tate. Susan is manipulating her friends into hating me, whom they have never once met, and does so with joy. A mature growing Born Again Christian would recognize her crime, the death sentence, her escape from it, and the value of truthfulness while serving her time in a spirit of humility. Oh! One last lie. Susan has been telling other people her third story at the Tate house that night of murder. She told it to me during our first visit. I promised to keep it to myself, but after confirming she has been telling anyone who would listen, I have been freed to repeat it. It will be in the Greg King book to be released this March. Susan hates her reputation as a sex crazed killer. She wept. She wrote me about it. But as I told Susan...All of our ideas about you sexually came from your own mouth. They were your words. And that my friends, is all about Susan Atkins.
