Caslav Brukners CV

aslav Brukner is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna. He obtained his M.S. in Physics from the University of Vienna (1995) and earned a Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Vienna University of Technology (1999). Professor Brukner was awarded the Habilitation in Quantum Physics by the University of Vienna. He was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Imperial College London (2004) and Senior Researcher at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information, Austrian Academy of Sciences (20052006). In addition, he has been Chair Professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China (since 2005). His primary research interests are foundations of quantum physics and quantum information theory. Together with Anton Zeilinger, he worked on an information-theoretical formulation of quantum mechanics. In 2001, he collaborated on a derivation of the general Bell inequality also known as "Werner-Wolf-Zukowski-Brukner" inequality. He also collaborated on theoretical proposals that led to the first experiment to demonstrate entanglement purification and the first test of non-local realistic theories.
