NO to Education Politics YES to Educating Children!

JULY 28, 2013 WAS NATIONAL PARENT DAY; yet the status quo ARRESTED parents like Kelley Williams Bolar(OH), Hamlet and Olesia Garcia(PA), Marie Menard(CT), Yolanda Miranda(NY), just to name a few, for putting their kids in safe & quality schools, yet we DENY parents the legal right to choose the best educational option for their child, and school districts create learning environments that are NOT family and parent friendly, and we minimize parent engagement within the decision making & legislative process that creates the laws that affect their children's education... So I must ask the question, WHY did lawmakers make National Parents Day? Was the Parents Day created because it was close to election time? One thing is for sure it was NOT to ensure the rights of parents to protect their children from educational neglect within unsafe and low performing schools! So what is National Parents Day? “In the United States, Parents' Day is held on the fourth Sunday of every July. This was established in 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law (36 U.S.C. § 135) for "recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children." The bill was introduced by Republican Senator Trent Lott."'_Day
