A Beautiful Thenkalai Vaishnava Theological Treatise written in defense of Sri Pillai Lokacharya's Magnum Opus, Sri Vachana Bhushanam, by his brother, Sri Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Nayanar, another doyen of the Thenkalai Tradition.

This Acharya Hrudayam was however written in Manipravala, a difficult sanskrit-tamil fusion language often used in SriVaishnava Literature, especially in the Thennacharya Sampradaya.

Fortunately, it merited the grace of the greatest luminary of the Thenkalai Tradition, the Lord's Teacher himself, Acharya Sri Manavala Mamunigal who wrote an easy tamil explanation or "Vyakhyanam" for it.

The original work by Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Nayanar with Sri Mamunigal's Explanation has been rendered in easier Tamil by the modern century's Thenkalai Stalwart, Sri PBA Swamigal, a renowned beacon of Sri Vaishnava Scholarship.

Due Respect to Acharya.org for its tireless efforts in spreading such crest gems of the Thennacharya Sampradayam. It must be mentioned that an essential part of the Acharya Hrudayam, though written by a Brahmin Saint, combats casteist prejudices against the Alwars, often of lower caste status. It reflects a progressive mindset way ahead of its times but it seems rather unsurprising given how Thenkalai Brahmin Acharyas and Saints have always been at the forefront of fighting discrimination.

Enjoy this beautiful and rare treat for the Soul.
