AWARD PROCEDURES
JOE RIVERSO AWARD OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR VINCENT OCONNOR AWARD DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR JOSEPH F. THOMAS AWARD LINEMAN OF THE YEAR NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES NOMINATION PROCESS: 1. EACH SCHOOL WILL BE PERMITTED ONE NOMINEE FOR EACH AWARD. 2. COACHES OF PLAYERS NOMINATED ON THE COMMITTEE MUST ABSTAIN FROM VOTING FOR THEIR OWN PLAYER. 3. A PLAYER MAY ONLY BE NOMINATED FOR ONE AWARD. SELECTION PROCESS: 1. A LIST WILL BE GENERATED FROM ALL NOMINATED PLAYERS. 2. FINALISTS WILL BE CHOSEN BY PLACING THREE NAMES ON EACH BALLOT IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE. (1ST-5 POINTS, 2ND 3- POINTS, 3RD-1 POINT). PLAYERS NOT RECEIVING ANY VOTES WILL BE REMOVED FROM CONSIDERATION. THIS PROCEDURE WILL BE FOLLOWED UNTIL 3 OR 4 FINALISTS ARE REMAINING. 3. THE COMMITTEE THEN REVIEWS ONE HALF OF PLAY FOR EACH NOMINEE. 4. EACH MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE THEN VOTES FOR THE WINNER. 5. TIES WILL BE BROKEN BY VOTE OF THE CHAIRPERSON. 6. THE SECOND PLACE FINISHER WILL BE CONSIDERED A FINALIST FOR THE AWARD AND WILL BE RECOGNIZED AT THE COMMUNION BREAKFAST.
