President Obama is coming to Buffalo at 8:30 a.m. on August 22nd to the UB Alumni Arena. We need lots of people sending the president a clear message that we don't want fracking in New York -- or anywhere else. This is a critical opportunity to tell the President that he needs to end his misguided support of dangerous, polluting fracking.

President Obama Comes to Buffalo: Embrace Renewables and say NO to Fracking!

Rally outside of UB North Campus Alumni Arena Meeting on Coventry Rd., Next to Slee B Lot Thursday, August 22nd, 8:30 a.m. Flint Entrance, Amherst, NY 14260 Coordinates: 43.000882, -78.78958 President Obama is coming to Buffalo at 8:30 a.m. on August 22nd to the UB Alumni Arena. We need lots of activists sending the president a clear message that we don't want fracking in New York -- or anywhere else. This is a critical opportunity to tell the President that he needs to end his misguided support of dangerous, polluting fracking. Will you commit to physically showing up to tell President Obama to end his reckless support of fracking and embrace renewables as the future for the U.S.? As you all may know, Obama has acknowledged climate change as a serious issue, and we are very supportive of the President's stance on the issue as well as his support for renewable energy in the U.S. But we are concerned with his position on fracking. This is an incredibly rare opportunity that we have the chance to pressure him directly. (See ideas for signs here: https://newyork2.sierraclub.org/content/obama-visit-signs) Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. this Thursday (8/22) to UB North Campus, allowing yourself time to find parking. We will be as close to Alumni Arena as possible on Coventry Rd. next to Slee B Lot, but keep in mind it's possible that U.S. Secret Service may have this area blocked off, causing us to relocate. If you arrive at our designated rallying area and there is not someone there to direct you, please call Rita of Food & Water Watch at 716-507-2077. The local Sierra Club will be meeting up with Food & Water Watch, as well as other organizations.
