ANS: The ancient civilization took place in Egypt and ancient Knossos, what is today known as Iraq, and also in China, India and Greece. Greece perhaps came a little later than others. The people of the younger civilization of Greece destroyed the old civilization of Knossos. The splendid civilization of Egypt was last for thousand of years. But, today only Pyramids and Sphinx is now bear the ancient civilization. The Nile River is also famous for ancient civilization of Egypt. The old civilization of Babylonia was also famous for civilization. 2. Briefly discuss Renaissance in Jawharlal Nehru’s view? ANS: Renaissance means born again. In Middle Ages all Europe rose and it spread whole of Europe and this is known as Renaissance. It grew in the soil of Italy first. Renaissance flowered in Italy from the fifteenth century and greatly traveled to other countries. Florence was the home of the early renaissance. Leonardo was a great painter and sculptor. He was also a great scientist and thinker from Italy was the father of Renaissance. He was the first who gave the idea that man would fly like bird. During Renaissance science and technology were beginning to develop. Seventeenth gave the world a greatest scientist named Sir Isaac Newton. Like science and technology, literature also developed during Renaissance. England produced the world a great dramatist named William Shakespeare. If we read the history of Middle Ages we will see that everything is developed in these ages. So, for this reason middle ages specially fifteenth century to seventeenth century are called the period of Renaissance.
