Merit Scholarships

UMaine Presidential Scholarship


Maine resident: $32,000 over four years ($8,000 annually) Non-Maine resident: $60,000 over four years ($15,000 annually) Very selectively awarded to first-year students who are academically at the top of their class. Selection criteria is based on rank, class size and test scores.

UMaine Flagship Scholarship


Maine resident: $20,000 over four years ($5,000 annually) Non-Maine resident: $60,000 over four years ($15,000 annually) Awarded to first-year students who typically have at least a 3.0 GPA and 1400 or higher SAT Critical Reading/Math or 32 or higher ACT composite.

UMaine Deans Scholarship


Maine resident: $12,000 over four years ($3,000 annually) Non-Maine resident: $40,000 over four years ($10,000 annually) Awarded to first-year students who typically have at least a 3.0 GPA and a 1250 or higher SAT Critical Reading/Math or 28 or higher ACT composite.

UMaine Black Bear Scholarship


Maine resident: $4,000 over four years ($1,000 annually) Non-Maine resident: $32,000 over four years ($8,000 annually) Awarded to first-year students who typically have at least a 3.0 GPA and a 1100 or higher SAT Critical Reading/Math or higher ACT composite.
