The Essentials of Life

There are two types of minerals. The body needs large amounts of macro-minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Trace minerals are only needed in small quantities, such as iron and fluoride. The majority of minerals come from healthy foods, including milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, and grains. Substances that the body needs to grow and develop. There are thirteen vitamins that the body needs.

The most important nutrient of life is water. Water makes up, on average, fifty to seventy percent of the body. According to the Water Project, 443 million people miss school each year because of diseases caused by water. Also, one out of every five deaths out of kids that are under five, happen because of water-borne diseases.
