Defines, develop and implement logistics plans, policies and procedures in line with corporation Logistics strategy in order

to support the achievement of overall business objectives. Ensures the effective implementation of plans, policies and procedures through leadership of a specialist Logistics Department team- setting goals and motivating employees in order to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved. Manages annual allocated budget, managing expenditure up to set limits, optimizing and reducing costs where possible and reporting variances versus budget, in order to ensure effective cost management. Provides professional consultancy, advice and guidance to internal customers on logistics issues in order to ensure that high standards in logistics practice are achieved and maintained. Oversee the development of policy and procedure improvements in order to ensure the on going development of logistics provision and standards. Evaluates and cost/quality optimize the logistics network on an on going basis in order to ensure best value logistics services are provided to the business. Develops maintain good working relationships with both other departments and with external agencies and suppliers in order to support the smooth provision of logistics services across the organization. Liaise regularly with senior business management in order to understand on going business activities and developments and the implications this will have for coordinated logistics provision. Attends and contribute to business planning and decision making meetings in order to communicate effectively within the organization and provide logistics input and support to overall business decision making. Personally resolve critical logistics problems in order to ensure contractual commitments are met and any operational impact is minimized. Researches and monitor activities and trends in logistics supply markets in order to ensure informed commercial decision making on supplier identification, selection and pricing. Negotiate with key suppliers and logistics service providers on contract issues in order to ensure best value purchasing terms are obtained.
