METHODOLOGICAL ORGANIZATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ORIENTED
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY IN PRESCHOOL INSTITUTIONS
Summary
The paper deals with didactic-ecological organization of educational work with
preschool children based on the findings of the survey carried out on 183 teachers
employed in pre-school Happy Childhood in Novi Sad. The majority of surveyed
teachers used direct methods in the implementation of environmental content but did
not organize environmental workshops. Teachers are insufficiently familiar with the
types of environmental activities, and often organize discovering activities to spread
knowledge about the environment, as well as activities that protect and enhance the
environment. Their views are that the immediate reality is the best source for environmental treatment, and that the manuals and periodicals only partially value teaching
contents about ecology and environmental protection. Therefore, it is indispensible
to introduce educators to ecological activities, ensure direct contact with the environment, provide appropriate teaching equipment for kindergartens and improve its
didactic and methodical organization due to the importance of ecological education
for preschool age children.
