Fossil Fuels and Alternatives
Lloyd Hamilton and Will Booth

Thursday 19 September
In this two part presentation by two of TTKD’s most active members, Lloyd Hamilton will explain the different types of geological hydrocarbons (fossil fuels), their extraction methods and the impacts of these on the environment, including the latest technologies and innovations. Will Booth will then present the philosophy and achievements of the 350.org movement, which focuses on ways to reduce our carbon emissions to the target of 350 ppm by avoiding reliance on fossil fuels. Llloyd Hamilton is a retired Associate Professor of Geology from QUT. He holds a PhD from Imperial College, London and has authored numerous publications over the course of his career. Will Booth is an IT specialist with a keen interest in self-sufficiency and environmental conservation.
