Car Seat Check at 29th Annual Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend
Are your children safe in their car seats? Do those seats meet the legal requirements? During last year’s event, only 1 of 91 seats was installed properly. This is alarming. That’s why anyone who travels with a child should go to the Annual Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend. As the flagship event for New York State, Albany County is giving parents another chance to learn about traffic safety and health from professionals. This is the largest traffic safety event in the state and a child safety seat checkup will be available to teach more parents how to properly secure their children’s safety seats. Have your child safety seat checked this Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Crossgates Mall Overflow Lot, Western Avenue side. Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend is important for our county to increase public awareness and education on different traffic safety precautions. There will be a variety of safety exhibits held during these events from different safety-related organizations. This weekend is sponsored by the Albany County Department of Public Works- Traffic Safety Education Program. Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend will be held at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, September 21st from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 22nd from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. ###
