to the top of your professional career and make life well-off. I have a pleasant personality with an intellectual mind & excellent fore slightness. I consider the blend of good interpersonal skill, creativity; analytical skills & ability to take fast decisions are some of the key skills which I do possess. One of the most valuable assets to me, apart from my management educational background is my five years of professional experience. I also feature a keen interest towards different culture, tradition & people. It helps me to have a broad view about life. I am quite sure that if not all, some of these qualities will help me in my post graduate works. I was always interested in business management programs and one of the reasons could be because I have seen my father working as Manager in a sugar industry and I admire a lot for his abilities. I had selected commerce after completing 10th level school education and did 12th (Higher secondary school certificate) in commerce from Board of Secondary Education, Bhopal, M.P. After completing my school level education I did Bachelors of Commerce from Devi Ahilya Vishwadyalaya Indore formerly known as University of Indore, Indore. Though, few people have some inborn leadership capabilities, I strongly believe that a management degree always help to make a perfect leader. So I decided to go for Master of International Business from University of Indore. It really helped me to create a strong platform for my professional career in International Business. I started my career in International Business with M/s Charankattu Coir Mfg. Co. (P) as Export Executive. CCM is World’s first SA 8000:2001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Certified Coir and Jute Company. I complement this page of my life as golden era; working in CCM has given me a chance to capitalize on my educational knowledge by applying it on a practical ground. I was responsible for generating business enquiries , managing international trade fair, negotiating with overseas client, securing order, coordinating with production & shipping line for smooth and timely shipment , supervising documentation & other administrative works. I was involved in many International Trade Fairs in India and abroad including the World’s largest Carpet Fair DOMOTEX 2005, 2006, 2007 in Germany. I worked in M/s CCM for almost four years and was promoted as Marketing Manager (Exports) during this time. I am really proud to say that, I can easily identify my involvement in many of the decisions in CCM. To begin with, I would say I changed the way the client enquiries were handled. Before my joining, enquiries were replied by limiting the answers; I made some changes and tried to answer even possible questions which may otherwise arise in future. In many occasion clients are not well aware of products or may have dilemma, in order to avoid such situations I included the pictures and technical specification in replies. I was also responsible for getting an Advance License for my company. I do consider it as one of the significant achievements because, now CCM is able to stuff the PVC backed (Vinyl backed) door mats from their own premises. Earlier, only the port stuffing was possible which may end up in damaging the products due to lacking of expertise of port people. Another option was to stuff the goods in to the containers from the original manufactures factory. This option carries the risk of loosing the buyer. But now CCM can grab the PVC mats order without these fears.
As CCM is an ISO certified company we had to make customer survey but unfortunately we were not getting the response, I tried to solve this problem by making the survey forms more simpler and relating it as an option of client problems solution. Apart from securing the new orders I was the first person in our company to get an incentive for regaining the lost buyers. I feel delight when I recollect my first experience of participating an exhibition independently. It was held in New Delhi under the Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Ministry of Agro & Rural Development; I could achieve the First Position award for my company. I joined M/s Meenakshi Coir Works in April 2008 as Export Manager. Working in M/s Meenakshi Coir works was really challenging job for me. Unlike M/s CCM, Meenakshi Coir recently engaged in Exports. I could see an opportunity to use all my theoretical and practical knowledge for the success of this firm. As a new venture in exports Meenakshi Coir provided me a ground where my decisions played a very important role. Starting from getting an export license, registering under the coir board or registering under ECGC (Export Credit Guarantee Corporation) I had an important role to do. I gained important initial business for the company. All this achievements has boost up my confidence in my ability. I am really thankful to these companies which had given me in depth practical knowledge. Having said that, I believe that learning is a never ending process. What ever working knowledge I gained through out these years gives me an Indian perspective for global business. Now I am intending to learn the global aspect of business management. I strongly trust that studying in your prestigious university will give me an opportunity to learn more about the management practice in present scenario of globalization. It will also allow me an opportunity to gain the knowledge of different students from various countries having different professional background.
