HOW TO GET FILES FROM FOLDER LOCK ..IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THE PASSWORD….

Well ..this doc will be really helpful..in case you have got a folder lock installed and forgot its password..

1st suggestion is to keep the password safely written somewhere….REMEMBER folder lock is not for
foolish people who are overconfident and keep some unthinkable passwords and forget sometime later.

2nd suggestion is to keep the password simple for you to remember and others tough to guess..

Now …IF….by some cause you forget the password then do the following…

1)TRY every familiar or any password combination you think might be correct or do anything to open
locker…

2)nothing happening? Unsuccessful ?...

Then remove every folder lock icon in the installed folder to make the field clear

3) You will see that the folder still contains something encrypted and hidden but is not visible by any of
the normal windows file options…( you know this because the folder occupies same space as the data
you kept in the folder ).

4)Goto Folder options->view->Advanced settings tab

Uncheck the option Hide protected operating System Files (recommended).

5) now you would see some folder like this which is in encrypted format and if you click on it,it would
goto control panel ( an old trick of windows to create a fake folder ).

6)This folder contains all your important data you want to extract and put into another locker (aha !!)

7) Important one …!!!!

The folder is in front of you now you can get the files by burning the folder into CD/DVD using Nero..

You can see all the folders and files in the burning wizard..make a new folder. Name it something new

And copy all files and folders from this encrypted folder to the new folder .

Or just grab some software to show the folder contents

I used Network searcher ver. 3.7.6 that shows all files in your system including this encrypted one

you can also access files like viewing reading ,etc.. or simply move the files to another location.

Using this ware..

I would rather recommend to not move the files to another location …because I move them and deleted
the files from the encrypted folder and lost the moved file too !!

But I got it reliably recovered afterwards using Pandora recovery software…

Just see if you get it the same way..

P.S.- tried on Folder Lock ver 4.2

Similar results on Folder Lock 5.7
