Key Signatures Cheat Sheet Pneumonic Devices for Remembering Key Signatures: Flats: Order of Flats: BEADGCF Or Bead

, Greatest Common Factor Number of Flats in any given Key: F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb, Or Fat Ben Eats All Dougs Grilled Cheese The order of flats is the order in which they appear in any given key signature. For example, if a key signature has 2 flats, those 2 flats will always be Bb and Eb. If the key has 4 flats those flats will always be Bb, Eb, Ab, and Db.

This is the list of flat scales from least amount of flats to greatest. Starting with F which has 1 flat, going to Cb which has 7. In order to figure out how many flats are in the scale, one simply says the acronym until they get to the letter of the desired scale. For example, if I want the number of flats in Ab I would say Fat Ben Eats All, A is the fourth letter, thus A has four flats. Etc.

Sharps: Order of Sharps: FCGDAEB Or Fat Cats Get Drunk at Every Bar Number of sharps in any given key G, D, A, E, B, F#, C# Or Go Down And Eat Breakfast Father Carroll. The order of sharps is the order in which they appear in any given key signature. For example, if a key signature has 2 sharps, those 2 sharps will always be F# and C#. If a key has 4 Sharps those sharps will always be F#,C#, G#, and D#

This is the list of sharp scales from the least amount of sharps to the greatest. Starting with G which has 1 sharp going to C# which has 7.
