. They will be stopping at Liberty Harley-Davidson's Boston Hts. location on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at approximately 5:30P.M. At that time, you will have an opportunity to sign a memorial flag honoring the fallen warriors of Operation Enduring Freedom XIII and/or join the motorcycle ride. Members of A Co 2/19th are sponsoring the memorial ride in honor of five Special Forces Soldiers, killed during the unit's recent deployment in Afghanistan. The roughly 1,000 mile, police-escorted ride will kick off at Mann's Harley-Davidson in Edinburgh, Indiana on Wednesday, July 22nd. The riders will be making scheduled pit stops at various Harley-Davidson dealerships throughout the Northeast United States. There will also be a monumental stop at Ground Zero in New York City on Saturday, July 25th. A ceremony will take place at the World Trade Center site with other 9/11 groups to raise 5 flags in honor of the fallen soldiers. After the ceremony, riders will be making their way to the Branford Elks Club in Branford, Connecticut for a SOWF fundraising event and celebrate their safe return. The Freedom Bike Ride will raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in honor of those who gave their lives to fight terrorism. Other participating groups include: WE DIDN'T FORGET 911; PA NY/NJ; FDNY; NYPD; PGR; local HOG Chapters. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations people who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations people and their families.
