Y ou and y our boy friend are deciding what restaurant to eat at tonight. Y ou're considering a restaurant that y ou'v e nev er been to before. Y ou're not sure if it will be good, but y ou'd like to try it. I say we give it a try.
I say we (do something).
When y ou're making a decision together with a group of people, y ou can tell the group y our opinion by say ing "I say we ___." For ex ample: I say w e skip cooking tonight and order some takeout. I say w e all call it a day and go home early. This phrase is neutral: not too positiv e or too negativ e, not too casual or too formal.
give (something) a try
"Giv e it a try " just means "try it", but sounds a little more casual: Give it a try. I think you'll like it. OK, I'll give it a try.
