MILITARY OPERATIONS AT PTA


Traffic Delays on Saddle Road

POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, HAWAII – Hilo-based Hawaii Army National


units will be convoying between Pohakuloa Training Area and Hilo during the next
several days:

• On July 23, one five-vehicle convoy will depart PTA for Hilo at 9 a.m.
• On July 28, four serials, totaling 50 vehicles will depart PTA for Hilo at 6 a.m.
• On July 30, one 15-vehicle convoy will depart PTA for Hilo at 10 a.m.

Convoys will consist of a mixture of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, 2.5
ton and 5 ton trucks. Some trucks will be towing trailers.
The Department of Army police at PTA have worked closely with local authorities and
the military units to coordinate this activity. Motorists are advised to be alert and drive
with care.
