Schofield Barracks Soldiers Killed In Afghanistan

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, HI – The Department of Defense announced today the death of


two 25th Infantry Division (Light) Soldiers supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in
Afghanistan.

Cpl. Jacob R. Fleischer, 25, of St. Louis, Mo., and Cpl. Dale E. Fracker, Jr. 23, of Apple Valley,
Calif., died November 24 in Deh Rawood, Afghanistan, when their vehicle was destroyed by an
improvised explosive device.

Both Soldiers were assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 25th
Infantry Division (Light).

Fleischer, an infantryman, enlisted in the Army in March 2003, and was assigned to Schofield
Barracks in October 2003.

Fracker, also an infantryman, enlisted in the Army in April 2001, and was assigned to Schofield
Barracks in January 2004.

A private prayer service at Schofield Barracks for the Soldiers will be conducted on Wednesday,
Dec. 1.

The incident is under investigation.
