to Hashem your Elohim belong heaven and the heaven of heavens. Examples: “Behold. ESV). 7 .The Source The Heavenly Father is in possession of many things that are far beyond our own imagination! Search the Scriptures. the earth with all that is in it” (Deuteronomy 10:14. and you‟ll soon read verses that help support this notion with reasons.
NLT The Bible compels us to believe that everything belongs to The Heavenly Father. Psalm 24:1-2. and everything in it. The world and its entire people belong to Hashem.Another verse continues to state and reasons 1The earth is the Hashem‟s. 2For Hashem laid the earth‟s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. not because he has taken it by force but because He is the Creator and the source by 8 .
“[…] seek the favor of 9 . declares Hashem of hosts” (Haggai 2:8. He possesses the tangible things that are of this physical nature: “The silver is mine. ESV) as well as able to disperse whatever he‟s in possession of to whom he desires.which all things were made. and the gold is mine. and of the many things that the Heavenly Father is in possession of. He is also in possession of intangible things that he disperses to people in due time: “[…] Elohim will give to each one whatever praise is due” (1 Corinthians 4:5. ESV). the Bible commends.
10 . something that comes forth from Him. and it‟s something that we can seek for ourselves so that our joy may be fulfilled when seeking the restoration of our homes. This means that the Heavenly Father is in possession of favor.the Almighty […]” (Job 8:5. Prior to discussing how to seek the Heavenly Father’s favor. NLT). this study will first define the meaning of favor and how to find it.
favor is understood to be a tangible item that one can possess. favor is generally understood support.Understanding Favor According to the Oxford English Dictionary. favor can either mean one of these three things or a culmination of them all. or as being the “approval. For the most part. Lastly. such “a small inexpensive gift 11 . or liking for someone something” (Oxford English Dictionary 2013). It is oftentimes perceived to be “an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual” (OED 2013).
the verse could be suggesting that we look forward towards the Heavenly 12 .given to guests at a party” (OED 2013). Provided that the Bible commends that we seek the Almighty‟s favor. anyone can understand the verse to imply that we either search for one of three things. Then again. something that you can hold and take with you. in fact. or search for them all! For example. this can mean several things. the Bible could be encouraging us that we seek the Heavenly Father‟s approval or His support.
the Bible could be suggesting that when we seek the Heavenly Father‟s favor. when searching for the Heavenly Father‟s favor. Just the same. the Bible could be suggesting that we expect to receive a parting gift from the Heavenly Father each and every time we come together to celebrate Shabbat or assemble ourselves in Holy Convocation. we seek for either one of these three facets or seek all of these facets. Thus. Still. the person will wind up searching for Elohim: “Seek Hashem while you can find 13 .Father acting favorably on our behalf.
He too has already decided each person‟s allotment! The Scriptures say that “[…] the actions of godly and wise people are in 14 . After understanding that Elohim is in possession of everything. NLT).him. Finding Favor Why are we commended to seek his favor? The Bible reasons that “Everything has already been decided. Call on him now while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6. It was known long ago what each person would be […]” (Ecclesiastes 6:10).
15 . NLT). we are encouraged to know that he too is in complete control of our lives and the outcomes that he has already set forth will reveal itself in due time. In other words.Elohim‟s hands. instead of entertaining the idea that we‟re in complete control of our own personal destiny. [and] no one knows whether Elohim will show them favor” (Ecclesiastes 9:1. we just don‟t know just what exactly the Heavenly Father will provide for us and make manifest! Thus.
the Scriptures gives us this confidence . plans for welfare and not for evil. 16 .that the Heavenly Father has reserved for each and every one of us good things: “For I know the plans I have for you.Now. Perhaps reflecting on this very thought that the Creator has taken charge of their life may be perceived as a very negative thing possibly out of fear that their earthly allotment is destined for evil! In such cases. declares Hashem. some may have a problem accepting the idea that they are not in control of their own personal destiny.
we take great confidence in knowing that “[t]he steps of a man are established by Hashem. In our search for the Heavenly Father‟s favor. ESV). 14And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for 17 . Therefore. what can we do? It‟s quite simple. We can be confident enough to let our petitions known to the Heavenly Father.to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11. when the man delights in His way” (Psalm 37:23. ESV).
anything that pleases him. ask our generous Elohim. and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for 18 . NLT What. 15And since we know he hears us when we make our requests. can we do to find Elohim‟s favor? We can simply ask him for it and know that he‟s more than willing to give us what we‟re asking for. 5If you need wisdom. 1 John 4:14-5. then. we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
6But when you ask him. 7Such people should not expect to receive anything from Hashem. James 1:5-8. Do not waver. Jonah 3:8). 19 .asking. for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. be sure that your faith is in Elohim alone. NLT Pray Earnestly As the Scriptures say. everyone should pray earnestly to Elohim (ref.
NLT). However. we 20 . It‟s perfectly fine to approach the Heavenly Father not knowing what to ask for. it is quite possible that we may not know what Elohim wants us to pray. because “[…] your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” (Matthew 6:8. Holy Spirit] that resides within us prays for us with utterances that cannot be expressed in words (ref.. Romans 8:26).e. however. At the particular moment when we come into prayer. we should be ever mindful that the Ruach HaKodesh [i.
should not be divided in our approach in asking him for His favor to be made manifested in our lives by entertaining the idea that we can obtain such things by our own personal merits: “Beware lest you say in your heart. we should be mindful of that: “[a]nyone who 21 . as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:17-8. „My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. for it is he who gives you power to get wealth. If anything.‟ You shall remember Hashem your Elohim. ESV). that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers.
we should approach the Heavenly Father knowing that he can reward us in accordance to his richness. In other words. may Elohim always give you abundant harvests of grain and bountiful new wine.wants to come to him must believe that Hashem exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” (Hebrews 11:6. NLT). Genesis 27:28 22 . From the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth.
Matthew 21:22.Our Attitude Prior to concluding. we ought to try feeling confident in approaching him and knowing that we can pray for anything. 23 . then we will receive whatever petitions we present to him (ref. and if we have this faith concerning Elohim (ref. Mark 11:24). We really should neither be afraid in coming near to the Heavenly Father nor be worrisome. his study will now say a couple of words about our attitude in approaching the Heavenly Father. Instead. Hebrews 11:6).
and you will find. “Ask. 24 . “Don‟t worry about anything. So. and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7. knock. NLT). instead. If you feel unsettled making your petitions known to the Heavenly Father. Tell Elohim what you need. pray about everything. seek. NKJV). and it will be given to you. and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6. remember what Yeshua once said.
25 . We should also be self-aware of our attitude towards him and be able to speak with our loving Father without any doubts or fears. When trying to restore a happy household. and how we can seek it. we‟re to seek His favor and make our petitions known to him without any hesitations whatsoever. Conclusion This study was about favor. how the Heavenly Father is in possession of it.
