Decide on crucial questions you want to answer in your study. Your objective will be to inform yourself and your fellow class mates and your lecturers about the topic under study. See Background Reporting Lecture Notes. 2. Gather information from various sources – write the sources of each piece of information in your “Note Book” in a form that any one can know and reach your source on information. Do not use only one or two sources, use as many as possible. 3. Organize your information into sensible groupings (see crucial questions above) and give a sub title to each group. These will form sections of your report. If the topic is wide you may concentrate only on some aspects 4. Write an outline (contents) of your report. 5. Write a draft of your report using your own words. If passages of a report are taken out of a source this should indicated as a quotation with acknowledgement of the source. Plagiarism will be penalized. 6. Give the report a proper descriptive title. It may differ from the topic title if you decided to narrow the topic to a specific area. 6. Revise and edit the report as many times as necessary, including spelling, grammar and punctuation. You may ask someone else to read your final version and give you feedback on whether it is clear and understandable. 7. Prepare an 8-minute PowerPoint presentation for oral delivery to a departmental audience.
