Recycled Tin Can Desk Organiser

What you will need:

Empty, clean food cans
Spray paint
Decorative paper
Mod Podge or glue and spray varnish
Pencil
Scissors or guillotine

2. Measure the circumference and

height with either tape & ruler or….
1. Spray paint your
empty tin cans. I wasn’t
too concerned with
coverage where the
paper was going to go –
just make sure the
exposed edges are well
covered. just wrap the paper with the right side
facing in and make a pencil mark.
3. Cut paper to correct
size and coat wrong side
with Mod Podge or glue
(use one suitable for paper
so your paper doesn’t
wrinkle).
5. Apply Mod Podge to
the outside liberally and
smooth with the brush (a
foam brush might give a
smoother result). Let dry.
4. Wrap around can
carefully, aligning paper
evenly with the top lip and
press to smooth it around.
6. For the shortest can, I
cut out a circle of felt for
the bottom for a neater
finish because you can
see it. I didn’t glue it so I
can change it if I want to.
Glue them all together
(if you want) and
Voila! Who knew
these had a past life
as evaporated milk,
corn kernel and tuna
cans!
