Title: Operations & Production Manager (TST-IO) Status: Full-Time Reports to: Director of Operations & Production Works

with: Festival staff, visiting company members, faculty, volunteers, and patrons Supervises: Production Staff, Apprentice and Interns, Artist Services Apprentice and Interns Position Summary: The Operations & Production Manager is a member of the Production Department and reports directly to the Director of Operations & Production. The OPM is expected to be able to function independently on projects under his or her direct supervision as well as assist the DOP in the day-to-day operations of the department, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, and assisting with the creation of production schedules and budgets. About Jacobs Pillow Dance: A National Historic Landmark and National Medal of Arts recipient, Jacob's Pillow is best known for its internationally acclaimed summer dance Festival, however operates yearround with mission-driven programs and events. The mission of Jacobs Pillow is to support dance creation, presentation, education, and preservation and to engage and deepen public appreciation and support for the dance. Each year, thousands of people from across the U.S. and around the globe visit the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts to experience the Festival, which presents more than 50 dance companies in all styles and dance traditions and 200 free performances, talks, and events; to train at The School at Jacobs Pillow; explore the Pillows rare and extensive Archives; and participate in numerous Community Programs designed to educate and engage dance audiences of all ages. Artists are supported to develop new work through Creative Development Residences and commissioning. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Year-Round: Review prospective company riders and contact artist's staff regarding specific needs; coordinate travel logistics, tour itineraries, artist comps, etc. Assist with preparation of contracts for artists and seasonal personnel Cultivate year-round relationships with volunteers. Coordinate schedules and responsibilities of Jacobs Pillow personnel including parking volunteers, nurses, house doctors. Monitor production budgets and expense tracking, reconciling all production accounts monthly Assist in the timely reporting of production expenses

Track capital needs and improvements and facilitate all Capital Projects Committee meetings Act as First Responder for medical emergencies, training provided

Festival: Participate as needed in the seasonal opening and closing of the Festival's performance spaces, studios, exhibition spaces, and temporary tents. Assist festival and artist's production staff during load-in, rehearsals, performance calls, load-out and changeover. Supervise Production interns in their specific duties and offer advice and guidance towards the completion of the assigned tasks. Observe, update, and revise current safety practices and daily maintenance of the festival stage systems, including supervision of production interns in the safe use of rigging, electrics, stage hardware, ladders, scaffolding, etc. Assist Director of Operations & Production in oversight of safety and cleanliness of festival grounds during day to day activities Supervision of Front of House activities including the supervision of Audience & Event Services Coordinator and acting as Manager on Duty as needed Under the general direction of the Director of Operations and Production, assist in emergency response for staff and patrons in case of emergency or extreme weather. Schedule studio calendars for artists and education. Coordinate with the marketing department on program proofing and staff credits. Prepare agendas and attend department and festival meetings as assigned Off-Season: Collaborate with the Director of Operations & Production on developing production budgets In coordination with Director of Operations & Production plan capital projects. Contact TST & Inside Out artist's production staff regarding specific needs; maintain early and constant communication with production staff regarding coordination of artists requirements and festival resources. Maintain and update all production related paperwork, including riders, plots and advance questionnaires. Participate in intern and seasonal staff recruitment with the Director of Operations & Production. Plan, schedule, and implement off-season production improvements. Assist with technical support for CDRs, CiMs, and co-productions as needed. Implement and maintain intern sponsorships by industry vendors. Qualificatons: Previous experience including college degree in theatre or minimum of 4 years of related experience in a management position at a professional theatre Familiarity with and knowledge of all aspects of theatre production, operations and procedures Strong attention to detail and proactive monitoring of processes with excellent communication skills Possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills Ability to multi-task, work under a deadline, and work flexible hours Valid drivers license
