For most journals, footnotes are a minor part of their scientific articles. Use footnotes only for information that is not necessary for your presentation.

If your paper is incomplete without a certain fact, reference or comment, then that item belongs to the main text.

Sometimes, however, there are bits of information that you would like to record for readers who will be going off in tangent from your paper. Put this nuggets in Footnotes.

Skeleton: One Short Paragraph This is a paragraph that usually comes after your Conclusion and before the References.

It is a special addendum to the Materials and Methods. In simple, complete sentences, record those who give you advise, information, assistance and materials. Be sure to list all your sources of financial support.
