What Is The Campaign Chronicles?
What you are reading right now is the introduction to the government newspaper, called the Campaign Chronicles. We, the fourth period government class, will be reporting the hottest news on the upcoming campaign and everything thats happening throughout the school. The senior government class will be running a mock campaign. 1st period class will be the special interest group. 2nd and 3rd period classes are the two classes running against each other . Those two classes have made their candidates and soon the halls will be lled with posters and your emails will be ooded with announcements supporting or bashing one candidate or the other. This is an exciting time in Spirit Lake high school and extremely competitive one as well. By: Abbey Horseman

BARBIE Q. GRYLLS - PERIOD 3

Barbie is a 34 year old from Lake Park, Iowa. She went to Yale, and double majored in political science and business, with a minor in law. Today, she is an attorney and also works the business portion of her husband Tom's bakery. She has a 13 year old son named Charlie and a dog named Kiyo. In her spare time, she has achieved a black belt in karate and is a leader in 4H. Interview conducted by: Lexi Jennings

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP

! After you read the title you might be thinking, what is governments special interest group? A special interest group gives information about the issues the two political candidates, Barbie Q. Grylls and Bill ORights, might face. The job of governments rst period class, the special interest group this year, is to shed light on certain political issues, their goal being to make the two political candidates take a side. The class is in charge of bringing issues to the table, and also to provide facts about the issues. It will be exciting to see what issues are brought up this year and how each candidate decides to stand on each issue. By: Hannah Sedlacek
