With the onset of the holiday season, we focus on our Families, friends, and participation in ‘Winter recreational activities. Unfortunately, fatalities and injuries rise significantly during the holidays and are mostly associated with driving and incidents in the home 2. Enforcing safety is critical to maintaining readiness in the USACIDC. Commanders and supervisors will conduct safety briefings with all subordinates prior to the holidays, All Soldiers and civilians will: a, Conduct Travel Risk Planning System (TRiPS) assessments if traveling in your POVs outside the immediate area. ». Inspect, winterize, and correct deti ncies on your POV before hitting the road, Inspect electrical devices and lights for frayed or broken cords before using for decorations, keep trees watered, limit the use of open flames and candles, and don't leave cooking food or boiling items unattended d.
