ICE COUNCIL PRESIDENT REPLIES TO PRESIDENT OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION SPEECH, HOUSE IMMIGRATION PLANS
“I would urge House lawmakers in the strongest possible terms, including House GOP oversight Chair Darrell Issa, to investigate the whistleblower accusations of ICE officers and other immigration agents prior to the introduction of any legalization bill…We urge lawmakers to stand with law enforcement, because this White House will not.”

Washington – Chris Crane, President of the National ICE Council representing approximately 7,600 ICE officers, agents and support staff, issued the following comment today following the President’s speech. Crane is also an ICE officer himself: “It will soon be 9 months since ICE officers requested a meeting with President Obama and we’re still waiting. In that time, the White House has met with big business, big labor and illegal alien activists. The administration has ramped-up its non-enforcement directives, putting officers and the public in danger. Every day, dangerous and violent criminal aliens are released back into American communities. Yet, Congress still has not investigated the illegal orders being given to immigration agents from this administration and the corruption at DHS related to immigration enforcement. I would urge House lawmakers in the strongest possible terms, including House GOP oversight Chair Darrell Issa, to investigate the whistleblower accusations of ICE officers and other immigration agents prior to the introduction of any legalization bill. I would also urge Mr. Issa and any House lawmaker writing a legalization plan to first consult with these law enforcement whistleblowers. We urge lawmakers to stand with law enforcement, because this White House will not. No new legislation will succeed if America does not first address the problem of U.S. President’s lawlessly ignoring the laws enacted by Congress."
