SYLLABUS CE736 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT

INSTRUCTOR: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rfat Snmez, (Room:K1-414) FIRST MEETING: 24-September-2013, 14:40TH5 WHEN & WHERE: Tuesdays at 14:40-17:30, TH5 COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course includes several topics related to project and portfolio management techniques from project conceptualization to turnover. COURSE OBJECTIVES: Develop an understanding of the construction project delivery process and key management factors for achieving project success. Provide a basic knowledge of project management functions, and competing values framework management model. Understand and apply scheduling, and integrated cost and schedule control. Provide a basic knowledge of portfolio management. Present an introduction to linear and integer programming, and optimization problems in project management including; resource leveling, time-cost trade-off problem, resource-constrained project scheduling problem and multi-project resource optimization. Practice report preparation, team study and oral presentation.
