EARTH DAY & ARBOR DAY

at
Fort Monmouth

“SUSTAINING THE ENVIRONMENT FOR A SECURE FUTURE”

When: 27 April, 1000-1500


Where: Lane Hall (bldg 702)
What to Expect: This year’s Earth Day & Arbor Day observance will
feature a variety of activities and interactive exhibits.

Exhibitors representing the environmental services industry, retailers and


government organizations will be present throughout the day to discuss products
and programs.

Videos featuring relevant topics will be shown in the meeting room adjacent to
the atrium at 1130-1430.

A wildlife exhibit featuring live birds including raptors, endangered species and
our national bird, the bald eagle will be located adjacent to Lane Hall.

An osprey nest viewing station (yes, ospreys nest at Fort Monmouth) will be set-
up (directions will be provided at Lane Hall).

Tree Seedlings provided by the NJ Division of Forestry will be distributed to


attendees free of charge in honor of Arbor Day.

Fort Monmouth DPW Environmental Branch staff will be present to discuss the
post’s environmental program, distribute informational materials and discuss the
post’s environmental program and history.
