The Medical Library Association defines medical librarians as professionals that
“provide health information about new medical treatments, clinical trials and standard trials
procedures, tests, and equipment to physicians, allied health professionals, patients,
consumers, and corporations.” This talk will discuss what medical librarians do and what
skills are required from them to be able to survive this job. The speaker will also mention
some encounters that she had while fulfilling her responsibilities in the office. She will also
give tips to those who are planning to shift or to pursue medical librarianship as a career.
