The “Mayflower Compact” was signed on November 11, 1620, onboard the Mayflower shortly after she came to anchor off Provincetown Harbor. The “Mayflower Compact” was an attempt to establish a temporary, legally-binding form of self-government until they could get formal permission from the Council of New England. This first document created in this New World, the “Mayflower Compact,” is an example of the godly heritage that we enjoy. The first settlers established their colonies first and foremost “for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith.” We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, etc. Having undertaken, for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith and Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the First Colony in the Northern Parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, Covenant and Combine ourselves together into a Civil Body Politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape Cod, the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France and Ireland the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini 1620. Our church family will observe the Lord’s Supper on Sunday, November 24, during the Sunday Morning service. This is a time to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ for our salvation. The Lord’s Supper is NOT a means of obtaining God’s grace. It is a church ordinance that pictures how we receive His forgiveness of sin—through the shed & applied blood of Jesus Christ. It’s an appropriate time to reflect upon our own lives, and repent of any sin. Prepare your heart for this heart-warming service!

During the Fall & Winter months when our church does not have organized soul wi nni ng , o ur church family is encouraged to TAKE FIVE Gospel tracts and distribute them throughout the week.

During the month of October, our church family determines our missionary budget by the amount we pledge to give through our commitment cards. If you have NOT completed and returned your Faith Promise Commitment card, please place it in the offering plate today. Through prayer and dependence on God, we would like you to make a 12-month commitment to missionaries like you make long-term commitments to banks to purchase cars, or a house.

After a recent inspection of our roof, it was apparent that the church’s roof needed work. There are some areas of our roof that need immediate attention. Our church will need approximately $22,000 to re-roof the church (not the new addition). Funds have already been received in the amount of $10,000 for this project. We need to raise the remaining $12,000 by the end of December. You can designate your financial gift on our giving envelopes by using the BUILDING FUND box.
