Booksin Walkathon

Saturday - October 10 - 2009 - BooksinWalkathon.com

Welcome Back! ... Now, Let's Get Moving!
Welcome to Booksin for the 2009-10 school year! You are probably aware of the significant financial challenges being faced by schools across our community. Booksin is no different ... and we need your help! Walkathon is the biggest and most important fundraiser at Booksin, raising more than $140,000 each of the last two years. This year, we need to raise that money again, to fund crucial school-wide activities, including Field Trips, Music & Art programs, Technology Enhancements, Science Activities, additional classroom supplies, learning materials for teachers, and a nearly endless list of student enrichment activities. Given the budget situation we need – truly need – the effort and energy of every Booksin Family to make this year another great year! Mark your Calendar: Booksin’s 22nd Annual Walkathon: October 10 Please keep an eye out for our Newsletters and other Walkathon information as it comes home from your classrooms! Through this material, you can learn how you and your family can make the difference – by volunteering time, making donations (in-kind gifts and monetary support), and collecting pledges. Thank You!

Booksin's Amazing Race
Our 2009 Theme draws from the popular “reality show” that takes teams of contestants on a journey around the world, with stops in historical outposts, cultural heritage sites, metropolitan areas, and other unique locations! This year’s theme evokes wonder over the natural environment and human adaptations (historical, political, scientific, agricultural, technological, etc) … tied in with the physical aspect of quickly moving around the world and navigating through its geographic and cultural variety. Join us on October 10 for Booksin's AMAZING RACE, featuring Food, Fun, awesome Music, Family Activities, Teacher Challenges, Exciting "Detours," Walker "Immunity Challenges," a World Bazaar Market Place, and much, much more!
