Developing a resilient community that responds creatively and positively to the twin challenges of Peak Oil and Climate Change for a Sustainable Future

Transition Town Kenmore District
invites you to

Sustainable local food
Gosia Urbanowicz and Erica Parker

Thursday 21 November
This month’s presentation is a double bill provided by two local personalities dedicated to helping people buy local, fresh seasonal produce and supporting our local farmers. Food Connect is a community shared agriculture enterprise that enables consumers to buy locally produced, fresh produce directly from farmers. The produce is delivered weekly in boxes to a network of volunteer ‘city cousins’ and collected by the buyer. Gosia Urbanowicz is Food Connect’s Kenmore volunteer city cousin. Moggill Market is a not for profit farmer’s market held twice monthly at Brookfield Showgrounds providing an outlet for local farmers and an enjoyable environment in which to shop for local fresh food and to enjoy a relaxed brunch with friends. Erica Parker took a lead role in the establishment and of the volunteer run market and its continued development. Both organizations not only provide an easy means of buying local food but also a better and more sustainable deal for our farmers. You are invited to bring food (preferably locally sourced or home produced!) to share.
