Energy-Aware Pipeline Monitoring System Using Piezoelectric Sensor

A pipeline can be damaged through a variety of ways and means. If the pipeline damage is directly connected to safety problems, an urgent need to continuously monitor the pipeline exists. Many pipelines in modern cities have been built over the years in response to rapid industrialization, and the pipelines are increasingly wearing out. In this paper the pipeline in industries is going to be monitored by Piezo-electric sensor. It will acquires the vibration occurred by the artificial or natural damage conditions during construction and clashes.

Existing System:
The existing system consume a large amount of energy, it is therefore very hard in practice to employ sensor nodes that have limited energy resources. And also it detects only the holes or damages in the pipeline using sensor. Hence we go for a new system.

Proposed System:
In this system the pipeline is going to be monitored by the automatic system which consists of devices like Piezo-electric sensor, Microcontroller, GPS, temperature sensor and Zigbee. The PE sensor senses the impedance value and temperature sensor checks for temperature and if any abnormalities happen the controller will sends the sensor data to the monitoring section along with the GPS value. By monitoring the values the checking person can take the remedy action and the datas are updated in internet.
