This standard has been published in accordance with a decision taken by CEN/TC 139 ‘Paints and varnishes’ (Secretariat: Germany) to adopt, without alteration, International Standard ISO 1518 as a European Standard. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen (Coatings and Coating Materials Standards Committee), Technical Committee 7 Allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen.
