SLO 1.

Student Learning Outcome #1 for English 100 states, Write Coherent, developed, and clearly constructed thesis- driven in-class and out-of-class essays using a variety of rhetorical approaches. This skillet involves my ability to write strong well strong developed thesis for my essays during class and outside class. All the essays during this semester challenged me to the fullest with different techniques to create arguable rather than factual, and clearly worded thesis. 2. Student Learning Outcome #2 for English 100 explains, Use effective strategies for prewriting, composing, and revising of essays, both in and out of class. This skillet involves my being able to use many techniques to better revise and compose essays. There were many beneficial techniques such as free writing, journal entries, and peer reviews that helped my essays have a strong beginning, middle and end. 3. Student Learning Outcome #3 for English 100 states, Read, summarize, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate a variety of texts. This skillet involves understanding and analyzing the text while reading. Reading recovery activity from chapter 9 of Success Strategies and annotating was related to this outcome because these two techniques helped me analyze, evaluate, predict, and confirm every reading that was assigned. 4. Student Learning Outcome #4 for English 100 states, Compose grammatical sentences free of major errors in mechanics, punctuations, and spelling. This skillet requires me to construct sentences that have no spelling, punctuation and mechanical errors. The Grammar syntax, and style group presentation was related to this outcome because it involved me to study Fragments caused by improper semi-colon usage, a punctuation and grammar problem that I had trouble with. This assignment also required me to create a

lesson along with four of my classmates for the entire class to using tips to avoid the error. 5. Student Learning Outcome #5 for English 100 states, Select credible academic resources from the library to research a topic. This skillet requires me to uses credible online resources such as scholarly journals, articles and books to get real information. The library orientation was related to this outcome because it informed the class about the databases and real online websites that are helpful to use with the assignments not only in class but also outside of class that were assigned to us throughout the semester. 6. Student Learning Outcome #6 for English 100 states, Document sources (print, electronic, and other) in MLA format. This skillet requires me to cite all the sources that I have used. Everything that we have done from essays to projects was related to this outcome because the whole class had to create a works cited page in MLA format for most of the assignments that were distributed throughout the semester.
