THE INTERNATIONAL VELUX AWARD CELEBRATES ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY AND LAUNCHES THE 2014 EDITION
The VELUX Group has launched the 2014 edition of its biennial Award that promotes and highlights the talent and capacity for innovation of students of architecture worldwide. Participants are invited to explore the theme of the Light of Tomorrow, in the widest sense, and demonstrate the performance and potential of daylight as an ever-relevant source of light and energy. The Award seeks to stimulate an open-minded and experimental approach that extends the boundaries of daylight in architecture including aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. Since its creation in 2004, the Award has been run with the support of the International Union of Architects. PARTICIPATION The Award is open to students individuals or teams, registered in a school of architecture for the period 2013/2014, together with their teacher. Registration takes place on-line on the VELUX website. There is no registration fee. Projects will be presented digitally and up-loaded on the competition server. Up to 10 honourable mentions will also be awarded. The jury may award special prizes for categories or themes. MAIN DATES . Deadline for registration: 3 March 2014 .
