HISTORY:
This term is first defined by Prof.Norio
Taniguchi in the year 1974.

 Redefined by Dr. K. Eric Drexler, in his book

Engines of Creation: The Coming Era of Nanotechnolog
(1986) and Nano systems: Molecular
Machinery, Manufacturing, and Computation.
DEFINITION:

Nano -One Billionth of a meter.

It means the control of Matters (Atoms &

Molecules).

It is a Multi-Disciplinary field.

WORKING:
Top-Down Approach

These seek to create smaller devices by

using larger ones to direct their assembly.

Bottom-Up Approach

These seek to arrange smaller components into

more complex assemblies. In particular, to cause single-
molecule components to automatically arrange themselves into
some useful conformation.
NANOTECHNOLOGY WORKING:
NANOTECHNOLOGY IN
MANUFACTURING:
Surface Textures of components.

Manufacturing of Polymers.

Design of Computer chip Layouts.

Coatings over the Materials.
