Sialon II

products

Sialon II is the second generation Sialon especially developed for todays severe industrial applications in the world aluminium industry. This new isostatically pressed ceramic shows a major improvement with regard to the impact fracture toughness compared to Sialon I / Syalon. Excellent non-wetting properties and a smooth surface are also important new features. Sialon II can now be manufactured in nearly all shapes. ALUPRO Sialon II is an alloy of silicon nitride and aluminium oxide. This superior refractory material has the combined properties of silicon nitride (high strength, hardness, fracture toughness, and low thermal expansion) and aluminum oxide (corrosion resistance, chemically inert, high-temperature capabilities, and oxidation resistance). Most refractory products are capable of surviving one or two specific environments that typically involve high temperatures, mechanical abuse, corrosion, wear, or electrical resistance. ALUPRO Sialon II has the capability to withstand all of these environments - at the same time! Sialon II can be used in environments up to 1250 C. Sialon II is non-wetting for most non-ferrous General advantages Sialon II: Considerably stronger than Sialon I or Syalon Excellent non-wetting properties 12 months warranty against chemical attack Standard tolerance of +/- 0,5 mm Cold isostatically pressed

metals. It is gas-tight, chemically inert, resistant to corrosion and metal attack, and features high strength, hardness, and thermal shock resistance. Application: Thermocouple protection sheaths Low-pressure stalks Dosing tubes Heater tubes Rotor / Shaft On-line request for quotation at www.alupro.com

THERMOCOUPLE PROTECTION TUBE

ALUPRO Sialon II thermocouple protection sheaths are u extensively for continuous temperature measurement in non-ferrous metals. In molten aluminium, Sialon II is nonwetting, does not contaminate the melt, provides continuous, reliable temperature measurement, and is resistant to degradation even in aggressive aluminium lithium alloys. ALUPRO has two standard diameters TC protection tubes on stock in lengths varying from 220 mm up to 1400 mm. The stock standards are provided with a groove. Our gas-tight stainless steel adapters are specially suitable for the Sialon II tubes. Try our new valve adapter for low-pressure die casting machines. Please do not hesitate to inquire about other diameters or plain-end tubes.

Specific advantages: Application: Considerably stronger than Sialon I or Syalon Holding/melting furnace Excellent non-wetting properties Degassing boxes Fast response time Launder On-line request for quotation at www.alupro.com

LOW-PRESSURE RISER TUBES

Sialon II low-pressure riser tubes provide performance cost advantages to low-pressure die casters. Because of unique properties to withstand thermal shock, erosion, Specific advantages: Less downtime for manufacturing No coating required Considerably stronger than Sialon I or Syalon Excellent non-wetting properties 12 months warranty against chemical attack and corrosive attack, coupled with its impervious and nonwetting advantages, Sialon II riser tubes are long lasting and mainly maintenance free.
Application: Low-pressure die casting
