Maintenance Department at Zwartkopjes Pumping Station. Principal Mechanical Diploma Technician (HAYBAND N) Reporting to the Mechanical Foremen, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide technical guidance and back up to maintenance personnel in ensuring plant, equipment and all new installations are with the required standards so as to achieve both Operations and Maintenance Sections measurable objectives. PRIMARY DUTIES Monitor and control budget within specified percentage savings Provide advisory support towards achievement of commercial equity Period asset management and life cycle costing Provide technical expertise and assistance Commission mechanical installations on Site Coordinate and communicate with other disciplines within maintenance cluster Ensure that the best maintenance management systems are in place with w.r.t. mechanical equipments Compliance to Planned Maintenance Provide support to ensure plant availability and reliability Project management w.r.t. Periodic Maintenance and Replacement & Refurbishment projects JOB REQUIREMENTS Diploma (N6, T3 or S4) in Mechanical Engineering 5 years (including Trade Test) experience in mechanical environment Knowledge of pumps, valves and water purification processes Advanced mechanical fault finding techniques Ability to develop scope of work and specifications Ability to interpret and analyse complex mechanical design drawings Code 08 drivers licence COMPETENCY PROFILE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS BEHAVIOUR Application of RCM principles Mechanical benchmarking techniques Condition monitoring for critical assets Implementation of asset management principles ISO 9001,14001 and OHSAS 18001 Planning and Organising Ability to interpret and analyse complex mechanical design Analytical Skills Good interpersonal skills Good communication skills (verbal and written) Budgeting and costing skills Attention to detail Quality Orientated Deadline driven Assertiveness Problem solving
