Re -Course assignment HEAVY METAL POISONING A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER IN JAMAICA

Heavy metals are potentially quite toxic and is present in the ,soil ,water and food that we consume. Below is a list of toxic metals present in Jamaican soil : Lead, Mercury .arsenic, cadmium ,cyanide, bismuth, chromium ,cobalt ,copper ,iron .manganese ,mercury ,nickel .selenium, silver ,thallium ,zinc.

Describe the epidemiology , mechanism of toxicity, clinical features ,investigation and treatment of ANY FIVE(5) of the heavy metals listed above.
This is a group project with a maximum of six(6) students per group. You can decide among yourselves who will be members of each group. The evaluation will be as follows:

Format of the written report 1. 2. Title Aim of the project ( 5 MARKS)

3. Introduction and back ground -Description of the impact of heavy metal poisoning in Jamaica and the risk they pose to plant and animal life (10 MARKS) 4. Discussion of findings ie the epidemiology , mechanism of toxicity, clinical features ,investigation and treatment of ANY FIVE(5) of the heavy metals listed above. (70 MARKS) 5. 6. Recommendations-ways to control these hazards (10 MARKS ) References- cited properly ( 5 MARKS)
