Extended Abstract
Standardization is one of the most important factors to industrialize a new technology. The Korean proposal to form a new technical committee for Printed Electronics was approved by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in 2011. The international standardization group on Printed Electronics was organized as TC119 under IEC with 11 participating countries in 2012. Since then there were set up 6 subgroups under TC119 in order to develop standards. The 6 subgroups are as follows : terminology, materials, equipment, printability, Quality Assurance, printed products. So far 8 new working items from three countries such as Korea, Japan, and Germany in the field of materials, equipment, printability, and terminology have been processed via IEC rules. In this talk it will be demonstrated how international standardization supports industrialization of the field of printed electronics as well as detail activities of TC119 will be presented.
