These are the karma to be performed by an individual, by his father, parents and guru during his life time. These can be divided into activities to be performed at different stages like pumsavanam and seemantham are performed during the pregnancy. Jatakarma, naming, anna prasanam and choulam are performed after the child birth. Upanayanam is to be performed before marriage. Education starts after upanayanam and the samskaras, prajapatyam, saumyam, agneyam, vaishvadevam are to be performed by Guru. Godanam is done by an individual upon completion of his studies and as a token of gratitude to his guru. Snathakam is certification by guru that his student has completed his education and then the student is asked to go around the world showcasing his skills and talents.
